La Piana residence was inaugurated on 22 June 2012 thanks to an Open Doors day included in the European Week of Sustainable Energy Week. This international event involves, every year, organizations and privates from more than 30 countries. The purpose is to use the renewable energy.
The project was born as a renovation of rural house in Predappio (Romagna), whose goal was the construction of four independent units. The residence was realized thanks to Antairidi, a company skilled on hotels, with the partnership of BTicino.
From energy point of view, the residence is self-sufficient, as it is equipped with a photovoltaic system, which faces all the house electricity needs, and a geothermal power plan for domestic hot water, heating and cooling.
The style chosen for the residence La Piana is "shabby chic country", in fact the main theme is a new living dimension where aesthetics, functionality and attention to the environment coexist contributing to this unique green experience.
Another purpose is to create a living experience thanks to My Home (BTicino’s automation). Furthermore, inside each apartment, there is a multimedia touch screen 10’’; it allows the control of the following functionalities:
- Temperature control;
- Monitoring consumption;
- Video and door entry system;
- Sound diffusion.
La Piana residence won the award concerning automation and renewable energy residential category in 2012.
