if you are referring to indoor probes *4693, *4692 etc. I would say: no, cannot be used outside. At least for most parts of our world, the effective range of 3 to 40 °C is not enough … And I guess they are not certified for outdoor usage (general durability, water prove …).
I wouldn't call the F454 "Version History" a ChangeLog. It is more like a high-level "news" file. Entries like "Optimization and minor bug fixing" are way too coarse for _good_ ChangeLog documents. Such entries essentially say nothing – nobody can derive what has been changed and which are the consequences for any interface the piece…[Leggi tutto]

the image file "grasshopper_v5_appliance_rpi.img", released in 2015, is built for the Raspi v1 and v2, only – naturally. The Raspi v3 has been released at the beginning of 2016. Short of an updated image, you may use the generic/manual installation method, based on a current standard Raspi v3-capable image.
the topic of changelogs is obviously either ignored or not understood regarding bticino device firmware in this forum. At least once in the past I also tried to get access to serious change information through this forum – without any success. Unfortunately there seems to be no interest in seriously informing the interested or…[Leggi tutto]
well, I guess, what I meant by "big" is, that only the F454 seems to have running the necessary software to support the set of OWN frames needed for virtual configuration. The F455 may not have this needed software. Of course this is all speculation on my behalf, but roughly matches past experience and bticino statements.
the last statement I remember is, that the F455 (this small cap rail thing) is just a "basic" gateway. For "full" functionality you have to have the "big" F454. However, I could be wrong and perhaps things changed …
one more thing, almost forgot:
These Eltako MS components do actually send their sensor data via a regular RS485 interface. The 2 connectors MSA and MSB at the MSR12 are actually carrying standard RS485 . I got myself one of these RS485 to USB adapters and connected it to these 2 lines. This way I can see the actual data send by the MS. The data…[Leggi tutto]
sorry, no solution, just a confirmation: the OWN command you are sending (*1*1*1015##) seems correct to me. And I can confirm that our F454 does accept commands with A and PL being 2-digit-ed. (Yes, as soon as A or PL is greater than 9, both A and PL need to be 2-digit-ed, padded with leading zero if needed).
So my guess would be…[Leggi tutto]
sorry late response — yes, as I already indicated in a previous post, we do have such a Eltako + Bticino Setup, running for multiple years now. Our electrician did install:
– MS (= multi-function sensor, one little box, roof), 1x
– MSR12 (= sensor data receiving component), 3x
– Eltako 240V relay, 6x
– ES12Z (= "storage" component,…[Leggi tutto]
Hi Mark, regarding the "new HMAC-based" authentication method (seems to have first appeared in mid/late 2015): Forum user sxpertle started a thread back in October 2015, including the question for documentation. I did follow up on this thread, asking for for it again every now and then.Unfortunately, until now, the response from bticino is – more…[Leggi tutto]
Hi vuongxuanphuc,as I tried to indicated in one of my previous posts, probably in an ambiguous way: you need to open multiple sessions _in parallel_. One event session _and in parallel to that one_ one command session. Here "session" means: a separate TCP connection to the OWN server. The OWN Intro does not indicate that it would be possible to…[Leggi tutto]
Hi vuongxuanphuc,Regarding your described "situation 1": Be aware that – as far as I know – the message *99*1## at the beginning of a connection does open an event session. It seems like you do want to _send_ a command, though – and thus you need a command session (*99*9##). An event session – as far as I know – does NOT accept any commands from a…[Leggi tutto]
Hi vuongxuanphuc, thanks for clarifying your situation. However, I obviously still don't really understand what exactly you are expecting? According to your description, the system works as specified/expected (as far as I understand it): Opening an event session yields events – if there are any. Opening a command session, makes it possible to…[Leggi tutto]
Hi vuongxuanphuc, just guessing: are you sending a carriage return and/or line feed, after anything you type (= press Enter)? The OWN protocol server does not like this, you need to make your terminal software just send out what you typed. I don't know anything about "iRidium", but on any decent os/telnet combo, this is done with hitting Ctl-D on…[Leggi tutto]
Hi dchramcow,I think your question is not necessarily within the category ("brain …") you placed it in 😉 … I think it is a good general question: What to do in case of forgotten passwords? You did forget your admin and/or user password for the web interface, right? Yes, these can be "reset" via sending a new configuration to the F454. But…[Leggi tutto]
Hi all, just for completeness, in case anybody did not know: The MH202, firmware version 1.0.13 DOES very well seems to HAVE the feature to exclude connections from configurable ranges of source IPs to have to authenticate via password. The official configuration software (MyHOME Suite) just does not seem to offer the possibility to set these…[Leggi tutto]
Hi MarkyMark,if a F428 is needed, then what's the difference in "programming" (compared to any other, like eltako)? (You mentioned that your installer said he would get support from bticino in case of Schalk). If Schalk does NOT have any SCS bus-interfacing component then "programming" is limited to creating scenarios which are trigger by F428…[Leggi tutto]
Hi MarkyMark, the components you are referring to, together with F428 (contact interface), basically result in the same setup I've already described. The Schalk components seem decent and I'm by no means an expert on that stuff or associated with any company of these, but I think the Eltako solution seems the more integrated one. The sensor and…[Leggi tutto]
Hi hleopoldseder, right, I already forgot, the "check device connectivity" message – I also got this once. The reason for getting this message in my case was, that I was NOT using port 443 forwarded to 443 at the F454, instead I was forwarding some other port to 443 at the F454. Judging from a trace of what's going on (Firefox w/ HttpFox), I got to…[Leggi tutto]
Hi,besides I'm still not recommending to directly connect a F454 to the Internet (*), I wonder how long you have waited and watch the animation? The point is, that the stuff which is getting loaded seems quite heavy (megabyte-wise) – at least for such a small web interface (might be in the eye of the beholder, though …). So the other question…[Leggi tutto]
